If your elderly loved one has dementia you’ll know they need a very special kind of care. Located in the picturesque Cotswold market town of Stroud in Gloucestershire, Northfield House provides the specialist care they need and is the perfect place for those living with dementia to spend their later years.
The home, a converted Victorian house with modern purpose-built extension, has a very homely and welcoming atmosphere and a genuine community feel so we think your loved one will find real friendship and companionship both from staff and fellow residents alike. And when they do need help, our excellent staff to resident ratio will ensure that there’s always someone on hand whatever they need.
The rooms and communal areas here are specially adapted to make them dementia friendly in order to provide an easy to navigate and stress free experience for your loved one. Supported by our dedicated team of experienced and long serving staff we think you'll find they'll settle in very quickly and easily.
People living with dementia see and experience the world differently to you and I. That’s why all our staff members are chosen not just for their comprehensive qualifications but also for their ability to show kindness, understanding, empathy and endless patience in their care of your loved one.
But don’t just take our word for it. Click here to see what experience existing residents and their families have had and how highly they rate the home.
My wife and I visited all the care homes in the Stroud district and collectively agreed that Northfield House offered the best care available. Our views were confirmed whilst my mother was a resident in the home.
She was treated as an individual, not simply as a bed-resident. The staff were caring at all times and coped with my mother's dementia admirably. Nothing seemed to phase the staff. In this context they were wonderful.
It is a home which I would wholeheartedly recommend.
We want you to feel that your loved one is every bit as cherished by us as they are by you and for them to come to see Northfield House as their home and not just somewhere they are simply staying at.
However, the best way to find out if Northfield House is the right place for your loved one is to come and visit. We’d be delighted to meet you and your loved one and to show you around the facilities.
You’re more than welcome to pop in anytime though it’s best to phone ahead to ensure that Carol, the Home Manager, is on site should you wish to meet her and to have a confidential chat about your requirements.
