Job Title: ​​Kitchen Assistant

​​​Kitchen Assistant  required at Northfield House in Stroud.

We are a warm, friendly, traditional privately owned Residential Care Home in Uplands, Stroud with a clean, safe and comfortable home from home environment.

We consider all our residents to be like a dear loved one in our own family.

Duties include:

  • ​​​To assist carers to give breakfast to all residents
  • ​​​To ensure residents remaining in their rooms have clean water/ squash
  • ​To assist with washing up breakfast items
  •  Mid-morning drink and snack
  • ​To ensure cutlery/ crockery available ready for lunch
  • ​​​To assist at lunchtime in the kitchen dishing up with direction from the cook
  • ​To check, clean and replace salt & pepper pots, vinegar and sauce bottles on a daily basis
  • ​To keep tea, coffee, sugar, water and milk restocked in conservatory
  • ​Prepare snacks and trays for afternoon tea
  • Tray to be delivered to each resident if in room
  • Collect all trays and dirty crockery
  • Wipe round inside and outside of fridges and microwave daily
  • Clean the crockery shelf daily
  • Clean the kitchen including all sides and shelves (under direction of cook)
  • Wipe round the dishwasher
  • Ensure cupboards and shelves are clean and tidy – Cook/ kitchen assistant
  • Sweep and wash the floor at the end of the shift
  • Empty and wipe over bins
  • Wipe over tops and leave kitchen tidy any other reasonable tasks requested
  • Correct use and disposal of PPE
  • To report to a senior carer any concerns regarding resident’s lack of appetite
