Sue’s journey in care originally started in the 1970s when she worked for several years as a Care Assistant for the elderly. Sue then focused on raising her young family until returning to the care industry in 2002 when she and her late husband Richard purchased their first care home, Quarry Mount, in Swindon.

Their vision for compassionate care expanded in 2009 with the acquisition of a sister home, Northfield House in Stroud. At the heart of Sue’s approach is the belief that both residents and staff should be treated as part of an extended family. This philosophy has been the cornerstone of her care homes’ success and reputation.

The powerful motto is “Care with Compassion & Commitment”. encapsulates the ethos that drives every aspect of care at both homes: The staff are chosen not only for their qualifications but also for their ability to show kindness, understanding, and empathy. The dedication to providing the highest quality of care is evident in the staff, ensuring personalised attention for each resident. Keeley's journey at Northfield House began in October 2022 as Assistant Manager, quickly progressing to her current leadership role as Manager.

With a diverse background spanning 12 years in the care sector, Keeley has nurtured individuals from newborns to centenarians, both in community settings and care homes. This breadth of experience has honed her ability to provide personalised care for residents with varying needs, including those living with dementia.

Keeley’s expertise extends beyond traditional care environments. Her time at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH) and Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) in the ophthalmology department enriched her skill set, where she assisted with minor operations and gained valuable theatre experience.

At the heart of Keeley’s approach is a steadfast commitment to ensuring that every resident feels valued, loved, and receives the highest standard of care. Her mission aligns perfectly with Northfield House’s ethos: “To create a nurturing environment where every individual, regardless of their vulnerabilities or cognitive challenges, experiences happiness, love, and the exceptional care they truly deserve.” providing Care with Compassion and Commitment.

Kaylee Saunders - Assistant Manager

Kaylee Saunders

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Joined: 2022

Kaylee originally began her career in care at Northfield House nine years ago, where she first discovered her passion for supporting others. After a break to raise her young family, she returned to the field, joining a large 45-bed nursing home. Whilst there, she gained valuable experience completing several essential training courses, including First Aid, End of Life Care, and Manual Handling.

Following another break in care to help look after her ailing grandfather until his passing, Kaylee then rejoined Northfield House, where she showed a natural aptitude for caregiving and strong leadership skills which quickly became evident, advancing her to the role of Senior Care Lead while pursuing her NVQ Level 3 qualification, which she completed with distinction.

Recently, Kaylee was promoted to Assistant Manager, reflecting her commitment and expertise in the care sector. Kaylee’s journey is a testament to her dedication and the impact of compassionate care on both residents and staff alike.
